KNOCKOUT CHAMPIONS Flow Deacons will defend their title against league queens Pan American International Insurance Warrens in tomorrow’s Goddard Enterprises Limited Senior Volleyball finals.

Deacons scored a predictable 25-23, 25-19, 25-21 win over Chargers, with Shonte Seale, Julia Lewis and De-Ann Smith leading the way. However, Warrens, who experienced defeat for the first time this season in their last game against Deacons, struggled to stop Phoenix Security Services Carlton.

In the end Warrens limped home 23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 23-25, 15-9 to make a bid to claim double crown honours. Rhea Bryant, Risa Niles and Shakera Jack had looked like they would pilot Carlton to their first volleyball finals.

However, the experience of former Caribbean MVP Anthazia Mason and Barbados’ netball captain Rhe-Ann Niles saved the night for Carlton.
