FIBA basketball outreach

BARBADOS is actually on the International Basketball Federation’s (FIBA) radar.

Basketball’s governing body has taken interest in the development of the local game, having sent sport manager Nestor Rodriguez here to make an assessment of Bajan basketball.

Rodriguez explained the purpose of his visit in a meeting with the media following various sessions with the Barbados Amateur Basketball Association (BABA) executive, coaches and stakeholders.

“I’ve been working for FIBA for ten years and this is the first time we are reaching out to national federations, sitting down and asking them basically what they need for their development,” said Rodriguez. (JM)
