LESC ‘not a health hazard’

THE HEALTH OF occupants of the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre (LESC) is not at risk.

That assurance has come from management of the Barbados Conference Services Limited (BCSL), the company responsible for the upkeep of the Two Mile Hill, St Michael facility.

Following reports that the Ministry of Tourism, which is housed upstairs the LESC, was one of several Government agencies being plagued by health hazards and environmental issues, the quality assurance officer at the BCSL Mary Rose insisted this was not true.

In last week’s WEEKEND NATION, a source had complained that an issue with the ministry’s air conditioning had forced the relocation of staff downstairs in December. (RB)
