Man remanded on gun, ammo charges

A ST GEORGE man charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition was remanded to prison when he appeared in court today.

Fifty-year-old Cleophas Nathaniel Mayers of Eastlyn was arrested yesterday after police responded to a report at his residence.

He was allegedly found in possession of a gun and ammunition.

Mayers appeared before Chief Magistrate Christopher Birch in the District ‘C’ Magistrates’ Court  today and was remanded to reappear in the District ‘B’ Court on March 2. (PR/NB)
