FORMATS AND TOURNAMENTS structures, like rules and regulations, conditions of play and the laws of cricket, should never remain constant.
Changes, especially for improvement, should always be embraced, particularly in a technological age and modern environment where an attractive package is essential.
Even when you reckon you have arrived at the best structure, there is always room for a little tweaking. For the second straight year, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) is playing its Regional Super50 Tournament under a double round zonal format.
The ten teams have been divided into two groups of five with each team playing the other twice in a round-robin competition. The top two teams in each group with the most points will then advance to the semi-finals, with the winners contesting the final for championship glory.
