Landlocked and need a solution

LANDLOCKED residents in Durants Village, Holders Hill, St James, are crying out to Government for help.

What began as a conflict between neighbours soon turned into a call for Government to step in and rescue them all as they said there is dire need for a public road to be cut across their properties.

“Government needs to buy part of the land from us and cut a road. For nearly 30 years they said they would do it. Originally we were told a road would join onto the West Terrace/Durants extension project but I don’t feel they want us driving through there – but all they have to do is block it off at the end. There are times when Government needs to stop dragging its feet and this is one of those times,” said one of the neighbours, who requested anonymity.

The WEEKEND NATION was called by Alfred Britton, who said he had no easy way to get to and from his property due to fences erected by two of his neighbours. (CA)
