Renee Burke accounted for her team’s last six points in overtime, including two go-ahead scores in the final seconds, as Springer Memorial barely held on to win a second straight schoolgirls’ basketball title via Thursday’s wild 45-43 win over The St Michael School.
It was an unbelievable finish to a thrilling title game at The St Michael’s court that resumed after rain cut the contest short in the third quarter a day earlier. (JM)
