THE BURDEN OF FINDING a healthy breakfast for children living in and around The Pine, St Michael area has been lifted thanks to the Barbados Youth Action Programme (BYAP).
For the last four weeks, BYAP has been serving free breakfast to approximately 80 children, from Monday to Friday at Peggy’s Place, Factory Road, The Pine.
The menu includes lentil fries, oats, pumpkin fritters, hot chocolate, homemade pancakes, vegetarian franks, tuna and cheese sandwiches, fruit juice and fresh fruit.
President of BYAP Lumumba Batson said the Nourish Today for a Healthier Tomorrow breakfast programme came about because BYAP saw the importance of nutritious meals, which nan be costly. (LK)
