BARBADIAN ENTERTAINER Rihanna did not win any Grammy Awards last night in Los Angeles.
Rihanna was nominated for eight awards, but came up short in each category on a night which belonged to Adele and Beyonce.
She was nominated for Record of The Year for Work, a collaboration with Drake, which was won by Adele’s Hello.
Work was also up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and that award went to Twenty One Pilots with Stressed Out.
Rihanna’s latest album Anti also lost out to Beyonce’s Lemonade for Best Urban Contemporary Album.
Drake won both Best Rap/Song and Best Rap/Sung Performance for Hotline Bling. Rihanna had been nominated along with Kanye West’s controversial Famous where she lent vocals.
Solange won Best R&B Performance with Cranes In The Sky to eclipse Rihanna’s Needed Me; Maxwell’s Lake By The Ocean took Best R&B Song for which Kiss It Better was nominated and Jonathan Barnbrook, art director for the late David Bowie’s Blackstar won for Best Recording Package in which (Anti Deluxe) was nominated.
Rihanna has eight Grammys. (BN)
