AMID REPORTS THAT a decision was given in the case of Central Bank Governor Dr DeLisle Worrell, the lawyers involved are expected back in court shortly.
Worrell, through attorney Gregory Nicholls, had argued this week for Sunday’s injunction barring Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler from firing Worrell to remain in place.
Sinckler’s legal team contended that it should be removed, paving the way for the minister to ultimately remove the 72-year-old Worrell from the post he held since 2008.
When the parties emerged from before Justice Randall Worrell this morning they were tight lipped except for Nicholls who said the matter would resume at 1:30 p.m.
Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite attended the hearing but declined comment except to say there was research that had to be done to return to court.
After hearing arguments on Wednesday it was expected that Justice Worrell would rule today on whether the temporary injunction he imposed on the Minister in a rare Sunday nigh court sitting would be lifted or maintained. (AC)
