More time to Worrell

THE RACE IS on to convene the Court of Appeal early next week to deal with the latest round between embattled Governor of the Central Bank, Dr DeLisle Worrell, and Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler, who wants him gone.

For a brief period yesterday the High Court cleared the way for Worrell’s firing by removing a five-day injunction that had been blocking the minister from laying a hand on Worrell, whom he had given an ultimatum last week Friday.

But no sooner than that first injunction was lifted in the morning, legal argument began for a fresh injunction to be imposed while the Governor’s legal team appealed the original ruling.
