Holetown Festival parade a hit

THERE WAS NOTHING stopping yesterday’s Holetown Festival Courtesy Garage Street Parade.

The festival, which is in its 40th year, kicked its week-long festivities into high gear with a colourful, kilometre long display of Barbadian culture and history.

Hundreds of visitors and locals braved the pre-noon sun to get a glimpse of the show, which was created in 1977 to celebrate the settlement of Holetown nearly 400 years ago.

There was something for everyone as the vintage and classic car show started the activities, before a show of musical skill from the Barbados Cadet Corps Band, Barbados Regiment, Daryll Jordan Secondary School Steel Orchestra and others. (AD)
