Top seeds dish out sows and move on

ALL OF THE top seeds advanced to the next round when the Silver Hill Road Tennis Championship continued with a packed fixture at the Silver Hill Court on Saturday night.

Suckling pigs featured prominently on the menu, with two affable veterans – sauna master Anthony “Baku” Simmons and Deighton “Pa” Roach – opening and closing the road tennis feast, respectively, with a healthy portion of that fare.

With the sauna closed for renovations, Simmons may consider attaching a pig pen to the new plans after he took the first set from Andrew “St George” Goodridge 22-20 and held his opponent 6-6 to get just one more point, losing the contest 22-20, 7-21, 13-21.
