Still waiting

LOCAL ATHLETICS are still watching and waiting.

The Athletics Association of Barbados (AAB) is mulling over a decision to send a team to this summer’s IAAF Under-18 Championships from July 12 to July 16 in Nairobi following the growing security concerns surrounding Kenya.

President Catherine Jordan revealed the AAB is still undecided after major countries like the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom publicly pulled out from the youth championships.

“We’re still watching as we haven’t come to a conclusion at this time. We’ve met as a board and decided the best thing to do was to wait as it’s still early right now and it makes no sense making a decision right now,” explained Jordan. (JM)
