ISLANDWIDE champion Kerry “TC” Francis and Julian “Snake” Quimby outshone some of the brighter stars when the Silver Hill Road Tennis championship moved into the Round of 16 at Silver Hill on Saturday night.

While Quimby’s advancement was almost elementary in his demolition of the experienced Michael “Mikey Jean” Jean 21-16, 21-7, Francis had to dig deep to go past the attacking Davian “Force Ripe” Taylor 21-13, 18-21, 21-17.

All of that action occurred on a card featuring wins for the deadly trio of Mark “Venom” Griffith, Julian “Michael Jackson” White and Antonio “Lil Man” Daniel.

With Jean adopting his style of just defending and returning the ball, Quimby rushed to a 13-5 lead before Jean rallied to 12-15. However, Quimby took that first game and controlled the second18-7 with Jean looking suspiciously at the playing surface as if it held a pit of venomous vipers. (KB)
