Three star at Louis Lynch finale

JAVELIN thrower Janeil Craigg, shot-putter Triston Gibbons and middle distance runner Anthonio Mascoll took pride of place among the multiple record-breakers when the Louis Lynch Championships climaxed at the National Stadium on Sunday night.

Craigg (below) hurled the javelin 74.33 metres to erase Justin Cummins’ 2010 meet mark of 67.87 and his All-comers venue record of 71.76 from 2008. janeil-craigg

The distance, however, didn’t eclipse Craigg’s national record of 75.62 metres which he established at the NACAC Under-23 Championships in El Salvador, last year.

Left-hander Gibbons not only surpassed the CARIFTA standard of 15.50 metres but set a meet record 17.04 in the Under-20 Boys’ shot put using the six kilogram iron ball. (EZS)
