ARE YOUR THOUGHTS NEGATIVE like the prisoners in Alcatraz? Do you want your prisoners to escape?
I am very fascinated by the story about the Alcatraz prison famously known as The Rock. This prison housed many dangerous criminals including Al “Scarface” Capone. Research indicates that prisoners never escaped from Alcatraz or those who tried did not survive.
Like Alcatraz, I housed some deadly prisoners (thoughts) in my mind. However, unlike Alcatraz, when I discovered how dangerous they were, I allowed them to escape. These dangerous felons caused stress and unhappiness. Their names were depression, fear, low self-esteem, loneliness and shame.
Like Al Capone, AZ #85, my most dangerous felon was ‘Fear’ or DV #47.
How do we reform? It starts with the powerful spiritual statement “I do not trust you”. Further, instruct fear to vanish from your consciousness and daily repeat positive affirmations. The most famous is: “I am powerful. Fear fears me”. Additionally, watch Tedx talks. You can try Ted Talks by Karen Thompson or Tim Ferriss and read the book called A Course In Miracles.
Progressively, on the morning after the reformation period, when I opened the door and asked fear to walk to freedom, I distinctively remembered he giggled. However, you will also witness that the giggling will freeze when fear recognises that faith, love, confidence and courage await him. He is always outwitted and crushed. Your victory is my victory.
As you plan for defeating fear, visit the Christ Church Parish Church and pay homage to a tree located there called Cordia, scientifically known as Cordial sebestena. The website www.eattheweeds.com reports about its fruit: “While the fruits are edible, their smell is better than they taste. Cooking improves their flavour.”
This tree, which is revered in Cuba, can treat fever, intestinal problems, stomachaches, malaria, edema, catarrh, incontinence and venereal diseases. Finally, both Simon Peter and Alcatraz were known as The Rock. In Matthew 26:34, Jesus said to Peter, “Verily I say unto thee, that this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.” Do not go into denial like Peter. Instead, eradicate fear from your mind because it is a very dangerous, gruesome, silent killer.
