AFTER MORE THAN a century years of use, the Joe’s River Bridge in St Joseph is about to be taken out of commission.
It will remain that way until about $2.5 million is granted to the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) to build a new bridge.
Chief Technical Officer at the MTW, Philip Tudor, told the DAILY NATION yesterday the ageing road and bridge were set to be closed in two weeks when an alternative road would be completed.
He said the temporary two-lane road would be built at a cost of $75 000 and connect Joe’s River Road and Joy Road. (AD)
