ANDERSON DACOSTA JOSEPH, who lived to protect his only child, died doing so.

The 49-year-old died on the spot after he was involved in a collison with a car on Westmoreland Road, St James, along the Ronald Mapp Highway while crossing the road with his five-year-old son Nazaria Joseph.

In a final desperate act on Sunday night, he pushed the infant out of the way and bore the brunt of the impact from the car driven by 19-year-old Nicholii Greene, of Carlton, St James.

The former truck driver had just left his regular liming spot, RK’s Catering, with his son in tow. The little boy was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital to be treated for a fractured skull and a left leg, which was broken in two places. (TSG)
