WOMEN OF DIVERSE backgrounds are meeting at UN House to discuss gender inequalities and triumphs women have made as part of International Women’s Day activities.
The opening address was delivered by Tonni Brodber, Head of Office at UN Women, who said she wanted equal pay for both men and women.
There was also a panel discussion entitled Throw like a Girl – Women Propelling Through Business which had contributions from moderator Tricia Watson, Senator Dr Esther Byer Suckoo, founder of Girls Night Out Barbados Jalisia Boxill, services specialist at Caribbean Export Development Agency Allyson Francis and project manager of Bajan Fusion.
The lone man on the panel was Pineland Creative Workshop’s Rodney Grant.
The event was organised by the Barbados Coalition of Service Industries with support from UN Women. (TSG)
