GOVERNMENT STILL OWES the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus close to $200 million.

This was revealed by the university’s principal Professor Eudine Barriteau today, following a Council Meeting this morning.

Professor Barriteau said despite the huge sum of money owed to them, UWI was still “doing well enough financially”.

She revealed that Minister of Education Ronald Jones had promised a package which would help to ease the strain off the cash-strapped university. (RB)
