POSITIONS OF PROMISE weren’t profitably exploited by Barbados Pride’s batsmen Shamarh Brooks, Jonathan Carter, Roston Chase and captain Kevin Stoute yesterday.
While Brooks got a half-century, Chase, Carter and Stoute missed out, falling in the 40s on a keenly contested first day of their sixth round match against a spirited Leeward Islands Hurricanes in the Digicel Regional Four-Day Tournament at Kensington Oval.
But with all-rounder Justin Greaves and left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican both finishing on 30 not out in an unbroken 45-run ninth-wicket stand, Barbados Pride still gained three batting points, closing the day on a respectable 302 for eight off 93 overs.
