Stubborn Carty holds up Pride

BRIDGETOWN – Leeward Islands Hurricanes, forced to follow-on with a deficit of 150 runs, struggled to 94 for seven in their second innings at lunch against Barbados Pride on the third day of their sixth round match in the Digicel Regional 4-Day Tournament at Kensington Oval here Monday.

The not out batsmen are Keacy Carty on 58 and Akeal Hosein on seven.

Resuming from their overnight 16 for four, the Leewards lost the wickets of night watchman Gavin Tonge, Nkrumah Bonner and Jahmar Hamilton in an extended pre-lunch session.

Fast bowler Kemar Roach has been the most successful bowler, taking three for 11 off 10 overs with six maidens.

He bowled Tonge for two and bounced out Bonner for five while seamer Justin Greaves removed Hamilton for 15. 

Leewards’ captain Kieran Powell, like he did in the first innings, has not batted the second innings due to illness.
