OPPOSITION MP Trevor Prescod has called for Government to explain its next move regarding the scores of people still squatting in The Belle, St Michael, a Zone 1 water catchment area.
Prescod, the MP for St Michael East, in which The Belle lies, said he believed the squatters were facing practical challenges which no one was solving, and no clear policy had been articulated to them.
He made the comments in the House of Assembly yesterday, the second day of the annual Estimates Debate.
“I know some people will go for the big national picture, but I don’t want to build any ego. I’m concerned about the quality of life of my people in St Michael East,” he told the chamber. (BA)
