MINISTER of Education Ronald Jones will go down in history as the person who stopped a lot of children from going to the University of the West Indies, says Opposition member Gline Clarke.
It’s the only legacy Jones will have to his name as the longest serving Minister of Education, added Clarke.
The St George North MP made the comments while contributing to the Appropriation Bill 2017 – Committee of Supply – Head 77 in the House of Assembly.
Delivering a scathing attack on the minister after he was praised by Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler for his contribution to early childhood education, Clarke asked: “What legacy will you be leaving for tertiary education?” (MB)
