IT’S EVEN WORSE than originally feared.

Darren Matthews may have a further stain on an already tainted career, with reports now surfacing that the banned cyclist offered money to a doping officer prior to his first positive drug test.

The news comes just over a year after the 26-year-old distance rider was officially served a four-year ban for failing two separate tests towards the end of 2015.

Investigations by WEEKENDSPORT uncovered the written report from a chaperone at the Tour Of Guyana detailing at least two peculiar requests  from Matthews that went against doping protocols in the sample collection process. (JM)
