Abrahams blames Govt for poor conditions

THE BARBADOS LABOUR PARTY (BLP) has accused the ruling Democratic Labour Party (DLP) of allowing the St Michael East constituency to run to ruin.

The accusation has come from BLP candidate for Christ Church East Wilfred Abrahams who, along with a number of political hopefuls, was canvassing the constituency in support of incumbent Trevor Prescod.

Speaking during the BLP’s Rub Shoulders With The People campaign yesterday in Licorish Village, My Lord’s Hill, Abrahams said the major concern expressed by residents was the state of their environment. He said they pointed to a blocked canal, garbage and an overflowing well.

In addition, there was the problem of the squatters in the Zone One Belle area. (HLE)
