Call for guards for school buses

A CALL HAS been made for security patrols on Transport Board buses.

It is one of the answers to address the concern about the escalating incidents of physical and verbal attacks against drivers.

Roy Raphael, chairman of the Alliance Owners of Public Transport, said they were concerned with the reports made by the board’s manager of marketing and corporate communications Lynda Holder that drivers were being attacked by schoolchildren.

Raphael called on the Ministry of Education to recruit school guards to patrol the buses “from time to time” to help stamp out these attacks. (CM)
