SOCIAL SCENE: Old scholars give back

MEMBERS OF QUEENS’S COLLEGE alumni turned out at the Barbados Yacht Club last week to support the Give Back QC charity in yet another fundraiser for the school’s sporting facility.

Headliner for the after-dinner show was famous British pop idol Sir Cliff Richard, and he attracted scores of British fans to the event, many of them, from all appearances, clearly fans still in awe of the singer’s decades-long reign on the music stage.

Patron of the charity, Dame Billie Miller, and trustee Vivian-Anne Gittens sat with Toronto-based former “QC girl” Cheryl Phillips, who was in Barbados on a brief visit and QC principal Dr David Browne.

Uniformly dressed in black, other QC alumni Dr Sharon Marshall, Allison Saunders, Sherrilene Collymore and others along with organiser of the function, Dr Anne St John, a trustee of the charity, were kept busy ensuring patrons had the delightful evening that was promised.
