I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN curious about humans and contentment.
Many readers of this column continue to express feelings of contentment when we connect.
Why are these readers contented? It is because they are telling themselves the truth about their existence and have accepted that life is life. I implore them to continue living in peace and harmony with self and Mother Nature. You are shining examples.
Undoubtedly, this is what the Bible offers about contentment. Job 1:21 reads: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
Additionally, in Philippians 4:12-13 Apostle Paul said: “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.”
On the contrary, people who are not contented normally have the area that they occupy miserable and in disarray. Their negative energy is revealed through their eyes and faces. Look around, do you see any discontented persons?
They are so because they cannot control you, do not accept who they are, become very jealous and carry heavy grudges. Some of them even have mastered shape-shifting and are always curiously staring at contented people. A good example of public contentment is Helen Knighton, featured last Thursday in the DAILY NATION column Heather-Lynn’s Habitat. Her Barbadian silent doctors included Jaboticaba.

Finally, Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu advises: “Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realise there is nothing lacking, the whole belongs to you.”
