Police restrain Hoytes Village

POLICE are champions of the inaugural Kerrie Symmonds St James Central Terry “Stud” Worrell Twenty20 Competition.

The “lawmen” defeated Hoytes Village by a mammoth 76 runs in a one-sided final at the Courtney Browne and Luther King Pavilion in Hoytes Village, St James on Saturday night.

After winning the toss Police racked up a challenging 161 for seven off their 20 overs before dismissing the “home” team for a skimpy 85 in 17.3 overs.

Veteran Larry Babb was named Man-of-the Match for his unbeaten knock of 41 that contained three sixes and two fours. The left-handed all-rounder returned with the ball to take four for 11. (AH)
