20-year-old dies in car crash

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING a fatal accident which occurred around 3:24 a.m. today at My Lord’s Hill, St Michael.

It resulted in the death of a 20-year-old male driver.

The deceased is believed to have been the lone occupant of the car. 

Police say the vehicle struck an embankment and this caused the driver to lose control and collide with the guard wall of the National Sports Council.

He was freed from the vehicle by personnel from the Barbados Fire Service and rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance. He succumbed to his injuries at the QEH.

Police have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed this accident or who can provide any information to assist in the investigations to contact the District ‘A’ Police Station at 430-7242 or 430-7246. (PR/NB)
