LESS THAN A YEAR after launching a classic retro car insurance policy, Sagicor General Insurance is reporting an overwhelming response from vehicle owners.
Assistant vice-president for marketing, Roger Spencer, said many customers were taking advantage of the new policy as well as the company’s road tax and driver’s licence renewal service.
He made the comments during second annual Retro And Classic Car Show on the grounds of the Goddard Building in Haggatt Hall, St Michael, on Sunday.
“The [classic and retro car] policy has been a hit . . . . The reason for that is that the policy has certain characteristics. It allows members to get comprehensive cover on the cars they restored, no matter what the age is,” Spencer said.
Sagicor’s marketing and business development officer Andre Barrow said the policy was also popular with car owners because they paid based on how much they drove their vehicles.
Spencer explained they had been inundated by car owners hoping to have their cars on display on Sunday. (AD)
