Teachers planning to take action

While a “day of disgust” and then a “day of respect” had been proposed, BSTU president Mary Redman said a decision on what kind of action and when it would take place would be made by the union’s executive council “very soon”.

Among the teachers’ main grievances were a demand by the Ministry of Education for them to correct Caribbean Examination Council School-Based Assessments, as well as what they described as a general disrespect by the Ministry of Education towards them. (RB)
