‘VICIOUS’ CIRCLE

THE HIGH NUMBER of vehicular accidents on the road is creating a massive headache for the Royal Barbados Police Force.

Yesterday alone, there were several crashes in various parts of the island, including one involving a minibus and a flatbed truck in Black Rock, St Michael, which resulted in 18 people being injured and triggering a mass casualty response.

One area in particular that is proving problematic for the police is the D’Arcy Scott Roundabout opposite Simpson Motors in Warrens, St Michael.

In fact, that area is of such concern to the force that Sergeant Seibert Johnson of the Traffic Division has suggested the Ministry of Transport look at making alternative road arrangements to lessen the number of accidents there. (AD)
