St Michael out front

The St Michael School are leading the pack in the boys and girls divisions after the opening day of the Frank Blackman Zone in the Powerade Barbados Secondary Schools Athletics Championships (BSSAC).

The boys amassed 219 points, ahead of second placed Lester Vaughan School, who earned 166 points, and The Lodge School, who accumulated 132 points to land third place.

In the girls’ competition, the same 1-2-3 place was recorded. The lasses from Martindales Road recorded 200 points, Lester Vaughan Secondary School made 171 points to earn second place, and The Lodge School slid into third place with 159 points.

While 28 records were broken at the National Stadium yesterday, some of the events recorded up to five new times at the zonal meet. (RG)
