DARIAN KING’s run at the Miami Open is done.
Barbados’ top-ranked tennis pro went up two early breaks in the first but eventually lost a hard fought 7-5, 6-1 result to eighth seed David Goffin just moments ago in the second round of the latest ATP Masters 1000 event.
It was a spirited performance from the world no.121, who broke Goffin twice to take a 4-0 lead on the 12th ranked Belgian.
But Goffin rattled off five straight games before breaking King a third time to take the first set 7-5.
This showing comes just two weeks after King won the first set against Gael Monfils before falling 3-6, 6-0, 6-1 in the second round of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. (JM)
