A NAME CHANGE is coming for the National Assistance Board (NAB).
So says chairman of the NAB, Senator Reverend Dr David Durant, who explained the name change would take into consideration the new emphasis on care of the elderly.
Durant was the featured speaker at the Democratic Labour Party weekly lunch time lecture at its George Street headquarters yesterday.
“Legislation is being prepared and it should soon be ready to change the name of the National Assistance Board to the Commission of Elder Affairs, dealing primarily with the elderly, which happens to be a growing population among us,” he revealed. (HLE)
