Arawak promises more dust ease

THE RESIDENTS OF Bromefield, St Lucy, will hopefully soon get relief from their respiratory problems associated with dust from the Arawak Cement Company Limited.

That’s a promise from the company’s new general manager, Manuel Toro.

“After we held three town hall meetings there we realised that this issue can be easily solved,” Toro told the SUNDAY SUN in response to the numerous complaints.

“We planted trees as a form of natural protection, and now we have bought a special machine called a dust fighter, so water can be spread around the quarry that created the dust. It keeps the dust on the ground, and that should help a lot,” the manager from Colombia added. (BA)
