Mart owner recalls scary ordeal

PATRICIA BURROWES was at work yesterday like it was just another day, smiling with customers and punching in sales on her cash register.

But it was far from just another day for this 54-year old.

Seventeen hours earlier, she and her brother Ivor Lowe had one of their scariest experiences.

The two, co-owners of the Taitt Hill Minimart and Bar in St George were a few minutes from closing up the business on Friday night when five gun-toting thugs decided to rob the place.

According to police, $600 was taken during the robbery. Police public relations officer Acting Inspector Roland Cobbler said they were investigating the incident.
