NUPW secures new insurance provider

A SECOND insurance company has taken up the National Union of Public Workers’ (NUPW) portfolio.

Beacon Insurance has joined Sagicor Insurance in offering coverage to all public servants, as well as retirees, who are members of the NUPW.

This has been revealed by the union’s president Akanni McDowall, who revealed the largest public sector union only had to finalise arrangements with Beacon.

McDowall was quick to point out that the ongoing dispute between Beacon and Workbench Furniture would have no bearing on the new arrangement.

“Some may ask about the reputation of the company and the ongoing matter with Workbench,” McDowall said.

“However, the company has given us a written explanation for the ongoing matter with Workbench. Suffice to say that we did our due diligence.” (HLE)
