THE $18 MILLION upgrade is close to completion.

Looks like the Wildey Gymnasium will be ready for CARIFESTA after all, as Minister of Sports Stephen Lashley revealed the major renovation works are on course to be finished by July.

Lashley gave the assurance in a media briefing following yesterday’s tour of the indoor facility with People’s Republic of China Ambassador Wang Ke and fellow officials from the Ministry of Sports.

“We look forward to the completion of the Gymnasium where we are able to host, in the first instance, CARIFESTA events here, and in the second instance, of course, we look forward to the completion of the photovoltaic system, which will bring the end of this entire project,” said Lashley. (JM)
