WHILE HUNDREDS OF parents, students and well-wishers descended on the National Stadium yesterday for the finals of this year’s Powerade Barbados Secondary Schools Athletics Championships (BSSAC), there were mixed feelings about the increase in the entrance fee.
Patrons were required to pay $30 to enter the Stadium, an increase on the $25 fee charged last year.
Tiganna Welch was adamant the increase was a slap in the face for patrons and required urgent attention.
“I think that moving from the stands to the grounds we could have been paying a little less. In the stands we were paying less, and on the grounds now we’re paying more but sitting in discomfort,” he said.
