WALTER MALONEY yesterday launched a broadside against the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) as he condemned its apparent militancy and willingness to pound the pavement instead of engaging in dialogue to achieve its objective.
“I am not happy with the direction,” the former NUPW president stressed.
He said while it might seem as if the union was just responding to an adversarial stance from government, it was all about tempering the response.
“The employer sometimes says things that you question yourself as to what’s really going on. But what I am talking about is how you repair relationships because it seems to me, whenever you open a paper or you hear about the NUPW, it is always about some fight or some threat or something like that,” he added.
