BARBADOS IS STILL very interested in reaching a final bilateral trade agreement with CARICOM neighbour Trinidad and Tobago that would determine if and to what extent local fishermen can go after flying fish within that twin-island state’s exclusive economic zone.
That’s the word from Barbados’ Ambassador to CARICOM, Robert “Bobby” Morris.
In a recent interview, Morris said discussions were never adversarial regarding a new fishing agreement, and that consideration is being given to soon start of a fresh round of talks on the issue.
“I know this is an issue of special concern, since we are going through the fishing season which has been a difficult one this year,” Morris said. (BA)
