Watson: RSS could help with crime

THERE IS NO need to establish any new entity to fight crime in Barbados and the region, said former executive director of the Regional Security System (RSS), Grantley Watson.

Watson, who is retiring after spending 14 years in the top post, was speaking at his retirement function at St Ann’s Fort, the Barbados Defence Force (BDF) headquarters, on Friday.

His comments came after Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite, who was deputising for an ill Prime Minister Freundel Stuart, said the island and the region were seeing more firearms and firearm-related crimes and that the region needed its partners now more than ever to deal with those challenges.
