ANOTHER WEEK, another jump.
Darian King continues to climb the tennis ladder, having reached a new career-high of 114 in the world when the latest Emirates ATP rankings were released yesterday.
It represents a jump of seven spots in the rankings, coming just two weeks after the 24-year-old set his previous best of No.121.
The move comes as no surprise, directly following his latest big time performance at the Miami Open, where he reached the main draw of another ATP Masters event and subsequently reached the second round by beating Lukas Lacko.
He even threatened then world No.12 David Goffin, albeit briefly, racing out to a quick 4-0 lead before eventually losing 7-5, 6-1.
It comes directly on the heels of his historic showing at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, where King won his very first ATP Masters 1000 match before taking the firstset off world No.11 Gael Monfils in a tough 3-6, 6-0, 6-1 defeat. (JM)
