THE CHILD CARE BOARD is awaiting the outcome of police investigations into the death of the four-month-old child who was found in a house on Monday in Back Ivy, St Michael.
So said Minister of Social Care Steve Blackett, under whose ministry responsibility for child protection in Barbados falls.
Blackett, speaking on the sidelines of a mass canvass launch for his St Michael Central constituency yesterday, said he was distraught at the news of the baby boy’s death, which occurred sometime between 7 a.m. and 5:40 p.m. on Monday at the family’s home.
A police release said the baby was mistakenly left at home by the parents during the morning period, and was later discovered unresponsive. (JS)
