DARIAN KING has definitely come of age and will be out to show his maturity and help the Barbados Davis Cup team secure a victory in their tennis tie over Guatemala this weekend at the National Tennis Centre.
This is according to captain Damien Applewhaite, who was speaking during a press conference at the Barbados Olympic Association’s Wildey headquarters yesterday morning.
“We would have seen Christopher Diaz back in 2011 in the tournament we won to gain promotion to Group 2. In that match, Darian did play Christopher, and he edged out Darian back then. But back then, Darian was 17, so it was a young Darian now emerging. It went to three tight sets back then. We all know Darian is a different Darian now, so we will see what happens on Friday and Sunday,” he said. (RA)
