Barbados win doubles to take lead in Davis Cup

BARBADOS HAVE TAKEN a crucial 2-1 lead in their Davis Cup Group II tennis tie against Guatemala at the National Tennis Centre today.

The dynamic duo of Darian King and Haydn Lewis came up big, beating Christian Diaz and Wilfredo Gonzalez 6-3, 6-4, 6-3 in the pivotal doubles rubber. 

It puts Barbados just one win away from a return trip to the Group II Americas final against either Venezuela or long time rivals El Salvador.

The reverse singles will be played tomorrow. (JM)
